1/5📢📅 Today 62 organisations demand #AIRedlines for applications of #ArtificialIntelligence that threaten fundamental #HumanRights in an @edri open letter to the @EU_Commission. 👇🏿👇🏿 edri.org/our-work/civil-soci…

Last week @Equinoxrji launched "Who protects us from the police?" - our commentary on structural racism in policing in Europe. This week we're highlighting examples of police violence against racialised communities, starting with #Justice4Stanislav
#Justice4Stanislav Stanislav Tomas was a Roma man killed by police this year. Police were quick to exonerate themselves from any wrongdoing before an independent investigation even took place. We want justice for Stanislav. We want to know: who protects us from the police?

We often hear that police brutality is an “American problem”. This report clearly lays out the violence that racialised communities face from the police across Europe. When people are continuing to be attacked & killed, it is time to abolish the police and build a safer society.

Brussels is a massive talking shop but some debates people just don’t want to have. This👇🏽is one of them, not least due to the near absence of people of colour in policy circles and leadership positions. Thank you to @Equinoxrji for sounding the klaxon.
