Gilead is beyond awful but I really want to shop in their supermarkets 馃ぃ #HandmaidsTale
Current read - "What to say next" Written by an autistic woman and her neurotypical husband, it's a guide to communicating with neurotypicals in a work and relationship context.

Feeling somewhat in awe of the complexity of neurotypical communication (and they say WE have superpowers!)

It's really useful so far.

This thread is just hilarious.
#BREAKING Polls are set to open in 48 hours across the US as the authoritarian regime of Donald Trump attempts to consolidate its hold over the troubled, oil-rich, nuclear-armed, north American nation. Analysts are sceptical the election will end months of political violence.

#covid4MDS This is a good clinical summary. It is from a critical care perspective but even as a primary care physician I found it useful: emcrit.org/ibcc/covid19/#per鈥

This is a recommendation for a Christian podcast that I found useful as an autistic person. I dislike hypocrisy, triteness, and illogical interpretations of scripture and I haven't been to a church in years.

The podcast is called "Exploring My Strange Bible", and Tim Mackie describes himself as a 'Bible history and language nerd who think Jesus is utterly amazing.' He is very open and honest about the weird parts of the Bible and doesn't try to whitewash it.

He is also genuinely excited about the Bible and has a really in-depth knowledge of the history, geography and languages of the Bible. I have found his podcasts refreshing, interesting and genuinely helpful.

I have struggled to find Christian resources that don't bore me to tears or nauseate me, and I thought there might be other autistic folk who might find this recommendation useful. bibleproject.com/podcasts/ex鈥

Wondering if more autistic people have colorful hair than the general population? This is my 19yr daughter's new look after she wrote her last school exam this week. (posted with her permission).

Our local Neurodiversity Centre recently put in a display cabinet full of stimmy toys, lava lamps and noise-canceling headphones. My 19 yr old daughter and I were excitedly oohing and aahing over the stimmy toys and deciding which to buy. A kid was watching us with wide eyes.

Who are you buying those for?" he eventually asked. "Us!" we said. I think his estimation of how much fun it is to be a grown-up has gone up a couple of notches.
